Ellery Creek Big Hole

Ellery Creek Big Hole, 92 km west of Alice Springs, is an internationally recognised geological site, with the waterhole a five-minute walk from the car park. The dolomite walk (3 km, 1 hour) meanders over foothills with views of interesting rock formations, then back to the camping ground along the riverbed, where I got some shots of a family of red-tailed black-cockatoos. Camping is allowed for a fee - I was going to stay one night but stayed two. A family of dingoes likes to share the camping ground.
