Well preserved and signposted ruins of the former Kanyaka Homestead, built during the mid 1850s and now on the Register of State Heritage Items.
The sheep run was once one of Australia's greatest, at one stage extending over 360 square miles with 50000 sheep. The homestead was then home to 70 men and their families.
After the droughts in the 1860s, the run was divided into smaller holdings and the homestead was abandoned in 1888.
