Highfield Historic Site

The Highfield Historic Site provides an insight into life in this part of the country during the early days of European settlement.

This was the headquarters of the Van Diemen's Land Company, which was the original European leaseholder of the entire northwest of Tasmania, and which still operates the nearby Woolnorth property.

The house was built in 1832-35, is still largely intact and open for public inspection, including night time ghost tours.
