Maritime Museum

The museum is part of the visitor centre and is set in attractive gardens.

It contains an interesting history of the area, specialising in naval, shipbuilding and maritime heritage as well as the natural history of the upper Spencer Gulf.

Also included is the largest permanently land-locked warship in Australia (1941 corvette, HMAS Whyalla), which is open for an interesting guided tour.

The museum has one of the largest 00 gauge model railways in Australia, which is built on a replica of the local landscape.
